Mena Alexandra (born on February 13, 1979) is a model and actress from the United States. In 1990, shortly after beginning her career as a model, Suvari began to appear in tv shows such as Boy Meets World. The film debut came with the show Nowhere that was that was released in the year 1997. Her performances in American Beauty, for which she won the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie led to her being the subject of more interest. In 2000, she appeared alongside her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. She then played the leading role on the film Sugar & Spice (2000). She had appearances in the 2002 independent drama Spun and in the 2004 thriller feature Trauma. The actress was a part of HBO's drama show Six Feet Under. In 2004 she was nominated as an Outstanding Cast member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She was also cast in Day of the Dead and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, and the film versions of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model for Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines like Vogue. She has backed and served as an advocate of the African Medical and Research Foundation over the years. Additionally, she is involved on issues of empowerment and empowerment for women and charities who promote breast cancer research as well as End Violence Against Women.
